The Client

KYN operates premium care homes in London, designed to deliver a luxury residential experience rather than a clinical care environment. Their Hurlingham home provides high-quality accommodation and care for elderly residents, many of whom are living with dementia.

The Challenge

KYN needed an in-room entertainment and information system that was intuitive for elderly residents, manageable by non-technical care staff, and consistent with the home’s luxury positioning. They wanted a single platform and a single integration partner to take ownership from design through to ongoing support.

The Solution

RTS designed and installed a single-platform IPTV and digital signage solution across 32 resident rooms and communal areas, giving KYN one management interface for all content, from live TV to branded resident information screens. Conventional RF/coax distribution was ruled out early as it could not support the interactivity, branding, or content scheduling the home required.

Displays were selected to complement the interior design, and remote handsets were simplified to a reduced button set to support residents living with dementia. The installation and commissioning phase was coordinated with the prime contractor and other tradesaround phased site readiness. On-site staff were managing day-to-day content independently within the first week of handover.
