RTS AV is committed to continuous professional development, and that commitment was reinforced last week as members of our installation engineering team attended InfoComm 2026 in Las Vegas, the world’s largest professional audiovisual trade exhibition.
The event brought together manufacturers, technology partners, systems integrators and AV professionals from across the globe. For our engineers, it provided an invaluable opportunity to strengthen technical knowledge, explore emerging technologies and engage directly with the manufacturers whose products we specify, install and support for our clients across the UK.
Investing in Technical Excellence
Technology within the AV industry continues to evolve at an exceptional pace. From networked AV and unified communications to broadcast, control systems and intelligent collaboration spaces, clients increasingly expect solutions that are reliable, secure and future-ready.
Attending InfoComm allows our engineers to stay at the forefront of these developments by participating in manufacturer-led demonstrations, technical workshops and educational sessions delivered by industry experts.
Our technical team already holds AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) accreditations, while the engineers attending InfoComm also hold the advanced CTS-I (Certified Technology Specialist – Installation) qualification. This internationally recognised certification demonstrates advanced expertise in AV installation practices, system commissioning, integration techniques and industry best practice.
By combining formal accreditation with ongoing education at events such as InfoComm, RTS continues to invest in the knowledge and capabilities that directly benefit our clients.
Insights from Microsoft, Cisco and the InfoComm Education Programme
A particular highlight of the week was attending keynote presentations from Microsoft and Cisco, both of which explored how artificial intelligence, cloud services and intelligent collaboration are reshaping the modern workplace. The sessions examined how organisations are integrating AI-powered meeting experiences, strengthening cyber security, simplifying device management and creating more inclusive hybrid working environments. These discussions reinforced the importance of designing audiovisual systems that are flexible, secure and capable of adapting as workplace technology continues to evolve.
Alongside the keynote presentations, the RTS team took full advantage of InfoComm’s extensive education programme. Engineers attended a wide range of technical sessions covering AV over IP, unified communications, digital signage, cybersecurity, network infrastructure, commissioning best practice, display technology, workplace experience and emerging AV standards. These expert-led sessions provided practical knowledge that can be applied directly to client projects, ensuring RTS continues to deliver installations that reflect the latest industry guidance and proven engineering practices.
Strengthening Supplier Relationships
InfoComm also provided an excellent opportunity to meet face-to-face with many of RTS AV’s existing technology partners and suppliers.
Maintaining strong relationships with manufacturers allows us to discuss upcoming product developments, provide direct installation feedback and better understand future product roadmaps. These conversations help ensure we continue specifying solutions that deliver long-term value, reliability and performance for our clients.
Working closely with manufacturers also enables our engineering team to gain deeper technical knowledge directly from product specialists, supporting faster deployment and more effective system support throughout a project’s lifecycle.
Bringing Knowledge Back to Every Project
Professional development does not end when the exhibition closes.
Following the event, our engineers will share the knowledge gained with colleagues across the business, ensuring that new installation techniques, emerging technologies and best practices are incorporated into future projects wherever appropriate.
This collaborative approach helps maintain consistent engineering standards across RTS while supporting continual improvement throughout our installation and commissioning processes.
Supporting Quality Through Continuous Improvement
As a company celebrating over 30 years of delivering professional audiovisual solutions, RTS recognises that successful projects rely not only on quality products but also on knowledgeable, highly trained engineers.
Our commitment to continual improvement aligns with our certified management systems, including UKAS ISO 9001:2015 for quality management, UKAS ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management and UKAS ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety.
Investing in technical training, professional certifications and international industry events ensures our clients continue to benefit from informed design decisions, high-quality installations and dependable long-term support.
