Mental Health Awareness Week provides an important opportunity to reflect on the wellbeing of our teams, colleagues, friends, and wider community. At RTS AV, we recognise that creating a safe and supportive workplace goes far beyond physical safety alone. Mental wellbeing is equally important, particularly within the fast-paced and demanding environments often associated with the live events and AV industry.
As a business, we are committed to maintaining a culture where people feel supported, respected, and able to speak openly about mental health without stigma.
Supporting Wellbeing
This commitment forms part of our wider approach to health, safety, and wellbeing under our UKAS ISO45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management certification. Achieving and maintaining ISO45001 demonstrates our dedication to continually improving workplace wellbeing standards, risk management, and employee support across every area of the business.
While procedures and certifications are important, we know that real support comes from people.
RTS AV is proud to have trained Mental Health First Aiders within the business who are available to provide support, guidance, and a listening ear whenever colleagues may need it. Their role helps encourage open conversations around mental health and ensures that support is accessible across our teams.
The AV and events industry can involve long hours, tight deadlines, travel, and high-pressure environments. During busy project periods, it is especially important that we look after one another and remain aware of the impact work can have on both physical and mental wellbeing.
Mental Health Awareness Week serves as a reminder that small actions can make a significant difference. Whether that means checking in with a colleague, encouraging balance between work and rest, or simply taking time to talk openly, creating a supportive environment is something everyone can contribute to.
At RTS AV, we believe strong teams are built on trust, communication, and genuine care for one another. Supporting mental health is not limited to one week of the year. It is an ongoing responsibility that forms part of our culture and values as a business.
As we continue celebrating 30 years of RTS AV throughout 2026, we remain focused on building not only high-performing teams and exceptional project delivery, but also a workplace where wellbeing and support remain a priority for everyone.
