UK Covid-19 Inquiry

RTS was appointed as the AV partner for the UK Covid-19 Inquiry hearings, which began in June 2023 at the Inquiry’s hearing centre in Central London. The facility comprised a dedicated hearing room, staff offices, a public viewing room, and a separate press viewing area.

RTS designed and delivered a bespoke audio system, a broadcast-quality camera solution, and integrated ceiling and desktop displays to support video, evidence presentation, and real-time transcription.

Delivery

In addition to the central London venue, RTS delivered AV services for regional hearings held in Edinburgh, Belfast and Cardiff, ensuring a consistent, high-quality experience across all locations.

RTS supported the full programme with an on-site team of specialist technicians, delivering seamless live streaming to the Inquiry website and major news broadcasters. RTS also managed evidence presentation and transcription services across all hearings.

Outcome

Established to examine the UK government’s response to the pandemic, the Inquiry ran across ten modules from June 2023 to March 2026. RTS’s end-to-end AV delivery ensured reliable operations, high production standards, and accessible public broadcasting throughout the programme.
